Fees

Fees for the academic year 2011 – 2012 are:

Single room - £150 per week + VAT
Shared room - £120 per week + VAT

Once a student has been accepted, a £200 deposit is required to confirm her place. This is returned at the end of her stay, minus a £50 inscription fee as long as there is no outstanding debt or damage to property.

Students are expected to stay the full academic year of 32 weeks:
12 weeks for both the autumn and spring terms and 8 weeks in the summer term.

Rooms should be left empty at the end of each term. Returning residents can store their luggage over the summer for a fee of £100.

Dates for the beginning and end of term for 2011/2012 academic year:

  • Autumn: 5th September – 23rd December
  • Spring: 2nd January – (Ashwell does not close over Easter Holidays)
  • Summer: 23rd April - 20th June

Dates for the beginning and end of term for 2010/2011 academic year:

  • Autumn: 26th September – 19th December
  • Spring: 3rd January – 28th March
  • Summer: 24th April - 20th June

The dates can vary depending on each student’s start date, but the
minimum week charge still applies. Students will be charged pro rata
for any additional weeks or days they stay.

Students should give at least 4 weeks’ notice in writing if they wish to leave before the end of the academic year in order to be refunded their fees or deposit. Refunds will not be given once the summer term has started.

The full amount for each term is due within two weeks of arrival. Late
payment will incur an extra £10 per week.

Short stays: we do not normally take people for short stays but if so
the rate is £30+VAT pernight, for students, and £40+VAT, for non-students.

Holiday periods: Ashwell is closed for two weeks during Christmas and for the summer. Students may stay during the Easter holidays.
